ETHYLENE PROPYLENE DIAMINE MONOMER or EPDM
It is the name of the latest developments of synthetic rubbers, whose denomination is Ethylene Propylene Diamine Monomer (EPDM) or Ethylene Propylene Terpolymer (EPT), is of good resistance to heat, ozone, outdoors, to the ultraviolet light of the sun and almost immune to aging. It has great resistance to numerous corrosive chemicals but has a limited resistance to oxidizing acids. It is highly resistant to mineral acids, detergents, phosphoric ethers, ketones, alcohols and low molecular weight glycols.
It is distinguished for its excellent electrical properties and its stability in radiation. It is also resistant to most organic chemicals and performs well in the presence of hot water and high pressure steam. On the contrary, we do not recommend its use with oils and it is attacked by aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as by halogenated solvents. It has moderate adhesion to metal. The temperature range ranges from -45ºC to + 120ºC.
